One of the most commonly asked questions in the blogging world is “how to blog consistently.” Unfortunately, staying consistent when you blog is one of the toughest things for a blogger to do.  Some weeks it’s difficult to get away from the noise and focus on writing.  You will soon learn, as your blog builds a bigger and bigger audience, your readers will anxiously anticipate your next piece of content. This makes staying consistent with your writing that much more important. Luckily for you, we’ve compiled 12 tips to help keep you blogging consistently. Enjoy!
Here are 12 tips you can follow to help you learn how to blog consistently and never miss publishing another piece of blog content again.
Tip #1:Â Build Around your Passion
Building around your passion isn’t the most popular tip for how to blog consistently but’s it’s number 1 for a reason. Simply put, if you’re not passionate about what you’re writing about it will be IMPOSSIBLE to write 50+ articles to start driving unique visits to your blog. It’s vitally important that when you start your blog you’re picking a topic that will keep you motivated.
It might seem appealing to go with a topic that has the potential for huge profits. I advise against this for a couple of reasons. Mainly because in 2021, AUTHENTICITY WINS. If your content comes across as stale or unengaging your blog will never succeed. Knowing your audience by being apart of your audience ensures you’re message always resonates.
Tip #2: Create an “Idea” List
Each day try to come up with 10 ideas. Visit and analyze similar blogs to give you some ideas. Additionally, perform some research to come up with a list of ideas. You can also visit relevant forums and check out the things that people talk about and see the topics that get a lot of responses. These ideas shouldn’t be too difficult to come up with, especially if you’re starting a lifestyle blog.Â
You may think that most of your ideas suck, but the important thing is that not all of them are rubbish. You will still salvage some ideas that you can turn into a post on your blog. One of the best methods of collecting ideas is to generate lots of them and throw out the bad ones.
The 10 ideas you write each day do not have to be amazing. Even the ideas that you may think of as something nonsensical or absurd may prove to be valuable. You can weed out the ones that are irrelevant and unusable later.
Another way to generate ideas to keep a note app on your phone so you can easily jot down ideas when you think of them randomly.  Revisit your ideas later and add them to your list!
If you can gather 10 ideas in a day, you will have 70 of them in a week. It is enough to keep you busy. With all these new content ideas, you’ll never again have to ask yourself how to blog consistently.
Don’t forget to categorize your topics when organizing your idealist.
Tip #3:Â Time your Writing and Set StandardsÂ
A huge factor in learning how to blog consistently is knowing your own pace. Not everyone has the same typing speed. You need to find out how many words you can write within 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour. It is easier to set or create a realistic writing schedule if you know how fast and how much you can write within the specified time.
You also need to think for a while and list down the things that you usually do in a day. When do you usually start writing your blog posts is it after lunch, after working out, before going to bed, or some other time in the day? How much time can you spare in writing, is it 1 hour, 2 hours, or more?
Are there other things that you do in-between writing, like checking emails or surfing the net? Doing other things while you should be writing can make you unproductive. The seemingly little things, like surfing the net, can eat the time you have set for writing.
When you have decided on the most suitable time to write and the length of time you need to spend in writing, make sure to do nothing but write and other things related to writing. As you surf the net for your source, don’t look at other things, just concentrate on your writing materials. You will finish your article or content on time and post it according to schedule.
Tip #4: Set a Consistent Schedule for Blog Writing
Some writers are more productive when they write in the morning and some prefer to write at night. You need to determine the time of day when you feel your creativity is at its peak. Choose the most convenient time for you to write without distraction and develop that into a habit.
To develop something into a habit, you need to do that particular thing consistently for at least 21 days straight. It takes up to 254 for some people to develop a new habit and an average of 66 days to make the new behavior automatic. Take note that some habits may take a long time to form, and not all people can form the same habit within the same time frame.
If you want to develop writing into a habit, make sure to follow the schedule that you have set for writing. Never miss a day to write until you develop it into a habit.
Tip #5: Find a TriggerÂ
Finding the right trigger that can help you to write consistently can also aid you to enforce the habit. Set off an alarm as a trigger to alert your brain and body that it’s time for you to write. You may also create a relaxing environment by adding essential oil in your diffuser to serve as a trigger that you need to get ready to write.
It’s essential to create an environment that tells you that you need to write already. Feel free to choose a trigger different from our example, but make sure to use the same trigger all the time. Add other triggers that can alert you that you need to prepare but don’t change the trigger that tells your body and brain that it’s time for you to start writing.
Tip #6:Â Map Out your Content CalendarÂ
A blog post that you failed to publish would be useless. Too many bloggers commit the same mistake of not publishing on time and begin losing their audience. In most cases, the problem is due to their refusal to use content management such as HootSuite, Buffer, Zapier, and others.
You may choose to do the posting manually, but how can you be sure that you will be able to do it on time? To post on time consistently, it is best to use a tool that can help you publish your content on schedule.

Of all the ways to learn how to blog consistently, eliminating distractions is what helped me out the most.
Declutter your workspace and organize everything. You need to make sure that your eyes can see only an orderly and clutter-free space to ease your mind so you can concentrate on your writing. A messy workplace can make you feel stressed and tired, which can affect your creativity.
You also need to silence your phone and other gadgets that may distract you. Put on the kind of music that can help you boost your productivity.

Create an outline before you start writing. This can help you create a good structure for your content. Organize your thoughts and help you stay on the topic if you have an outline. If need be, change the positions of your subheadings to create more impactful content.
Sometimes, not having a good structure to follow could get you off the topic that you are discussing. Instead of creating meaningful, beneficial content, you may end up creating something that lacks coherence. Ensuring best practice on post format will also help out your rankings in the search engine.

Knowing that you have a reader base can give an extremely rewarding feeling that can boost your motivation to provide quality content to your readers.

Checking the comments to your posts and engaging with your readers can help you deepen your connections with them. You will also discover the kind of content that your readers want you to provide.
